Emu with Tripe Stuffed Trachea
- 8 lbs of ground emu
- 4 lbs of beef organ blend from GreenTripe.com
- 2 lbs of Fermented vegetables
- 1-1/2 teaspoons of golden paste for Rodrigo and Sydney
We received tripe stuffed trachea from Raw Feeding Miami and the dogs loved it. The stuffed trachea arrived whole and I knew that this would be a messy meal, so I used to sharp nice to cut it into stuffed rings. It's a bit tough to cut, but with the right knife, it goes quickly. I added several rings (along with the tripe) to everyone's dish and they LOVED IT!
Supplements Added to Raw Meal
Over the years, I've simplified my dogs' raw meals as I learned more about the supplements they need. I created a page that lists all of the supplements that I give to my dogs and why. You can check my Supplements Page HERE.

Sourcing for Raw Dog Food
I purchase 99% of the food and supplements for my dogs through a local raw food co-op.
Based on what you shared about your diet, it looks like your dog is missing some key nutrients in the diet because you’re not adding organ meat (heart is fed as a muscle meat). Also, Omega 3 fatty acids are important as well, you can get them from multiple sources. I completely respect what you’re saying about the budget and I understand that it can be challenging to source what you need at an affordable price. While you’re doing your research on the diet and sourcing, I recommend returning to the best kibble that your budget allows and adding fresh food to the bowl. It doesn’t have to be raw, you can cooked ground chicken/turkey/beef, add pureed veggies, and canned sardines (in water with no salt added, or in olive oil). This would be a great diet to start with and you’ll be able to buy everything you need as it goes on sale.
Chewy.com offers free shipping and discounts. And you can shop sales at the grocery store. Don’t feel bad about not being able to feed full raw. It’s better to focus on improving the diet than feeding a diet that’s not balanced. Nutrient deficiencies can do a lot of damage to a dog. This way, your dogs are getting what they need AND you’re adding fresh food that provides additional nutrients. I truly believe that adding fresh food to a dog’s diet will help to extend their lives.
Thanks for the question.

I have been feeding my dogs raw for about a year. It was trial and error in the beginning and then I found something that worked for me financially and time wise, and seemed to work for the dogs as well. I see now it’s not working and I have to go back to the drawing board. So here I am! ?
