What is The Dog Cancer Series?
“Over 6 hours of groundbreaking information from 50 oncologists, cancer researchers and veterinarians providing innovative insights and practical tools you can implement immediately. This documentary will provide answers, tools, and inspiration to pet parents worldwide who find themselves facing the diagnosis of cancer.” ~ The Dog Cancer Series, Facebook
We are lucky to live in a time when people are exploring how to raise dogs naturally. We're fed up with losing our dogs and we're ready to tip the odds in their favor. What blows is that not everyone in the veterinarian community is willing to jump on board. Instead, they still stick to the old ways, ways that led us to a time when 50% of our dogs are diagnosed with cancer with little hope of a cure.
Why I Bought The Dog Cancer Series
My dogs are healthy but I still purchased a copy of The Dog Cancer Series because the last I heard, 50% of dogs would develop some form of cancer in their lives. I have four dogs and according to those numbers, two of my dogs will develop cancer. There are so many things that are stacked against us that it's easy to give up. American's have accepted that dogs live a short life and it doesn't have to be this way. While raw feeding doesn't prevent cancer, we're beginning to learn the impact of feeding a healthier diet of fresh food to our dogs.
The raw feeding community is growing as more dog parents strive to learn how to feed a species appropriate diet to their best friend. But a change in diet isn't the only step we need to take and The Dog Cancer Series provides the tools we need to create a healthy environment to give us a better chance of preventing cancer. We'll also learn the steps we can take should we get the heartbreaking diagnoses.
The Dog Cancer Series offers us HOPE!
My Favorite Part of The Dog Cancer Series
My favorite part of The Dog Cancer Series is the Frequently Asked Questions section. An entire section devoted to providing detailed answers to the most common questions about canine cancer, the keto diet for dogs, and more. This is truly a valuable resource for all dog parents. After watching the series, I no longer feared losing my dogs to cancer because I feel like I have a game plan; a plan to keep my dogs healthy.
My Interview with Rodney Habib and Dr. Karen Becker
This is an hour-long interview filled with a ton of information. I considered breaking it up into sections but didn't want to break up the flow of these two brilliant individuals sharing their knowledge with us. In this video, we talk about…
- canine cancer
- the keto diet for pets
- raw feeding
- fermented vegetables
- the importance of keeping our dogs' gut healthy, and more.
YouTube will save where you left off if you can't watch it all in one sitting.

I just recently heard about this food. I’ve been disappointed by the reporting because many of the articles lead readers to believe (by the title) that the article contains a study. This is the first one (the one you linked) that isn’t using that tactic and it’s appreciated. While I don’t agree with a vegan diet for dogs, I do agree with your comment that for people who insist on feeding their dogs this way, we can only pray for the healthiest option out there.
I’m definitely going to have to check this out, I love learning new things about dog health and nutrition. I’ve always been interested in dog nutrition, but it was only last year when I actually started researching more about dog nutrition, and your blog has been a tremendous help. I’ve finally gained the confidence to make homemade dog food this year, and I’m so excited! I’m hoping I never have to come back to overly processed foods ever.
While on the topic of dog nutrition, have you heard of Wild Earth? It’s a vegan kibble, but it’s made with koji, a type of fungus, for the protein. I’ve never liked vegan kibble, but I’m hoping this one turns out all right, so that dogs who are on a vegan diet will have a adequate kibble option that isn’t just stuffed with peas and grains.
