It's almost Amazon Prime Day, and I am excited to explore the available deals that can simplify raw feeding. My approach towards Prime Day is more practical than most content creators, as my focus is on making raw feeding easier for myself and relying on DIY methods.
What's Amazon Prime Day?
Prime Day is an exclusive Amazon sale event that is only available for Prime members. This event offers two days of amazing discounts on thousands of products across all categories.
What is I'm Not an Amazon Prime Member?
You don't have to be an Amazon Prime member to enjoy the benefits; you need a friend or family member who is a member and willing to add you to their account. They can add up to two adults to their account.
To begin, please go to the Amazon Household page and select “Add Adult.” You may opt to either send an email invitation or sign up together to confirm your accounts.
Once you’ve created your Amazon Household, you can review your content-sharing settings in the Family Library. Check the boxes where you’d like to share content and uncheck the boxes where you don’t wish to share content. You can change these sharing settings at any point in the future.
Technically, you need to be a member of this person's household, so your packages will be going to their house – so don't select someone in another state unless you plan to visit regularly. And the main Prime member won't have to worry about payments; you'll be paying for your own purchases. You'll have your own account that is separate from theirs; you'll just be taking advantage of the Prime benefits.
Products I Look for on Prime Day
In my opinion, it is less expensive to provide my dogs with a raw diet when I am engaged in DIY activities as much as possible. This involves creating their food, preparing bone broth, kefir, and yogurt, cultivating sprouts and microgreens, and dehydrating dog treats.
My Prime Day Wishlist includes the following:
Before ordering anything, I always check the reviews. Sometimes, I go through one, two, or three-star reviews to know if the product will work for me. A negative review doesn't necessarily mean that I won't buy the product. Instead, I want to learn what to look out for with the product.
- Kitchen knives – quality knives are expensive.
- Thawing trays – these are surfaces that allow for fast thawing.
- Food storage/meal prep containers – looking for large containers and glass containers.
- Dehydrators – looking for one with a temperature gauge lower than 100 F (38 C).
- Food processors – to puree vegetables, herbs, and more.
- Sturdy spoons – mixing raw meat requires a sturdy spoon.
- XXL mixing bowls – I'm doing DIY for four large dogs.
- Pressure cookers – having more than one means my yogurt won't have a hint of bone broth flavor.
- Slow cookers – if pressure cookers aren't available or too expensive.
- Vegetable choppers – to save time.
- Sprouting/microgreen/mushroom grow kits – easier and less expensive to grow at home.
- Food savers – to vacuum seal food and treats.
- Kitchen scale – I weigh all of my dogs' raw meals.
- Organizing tools – for my dog pantry.
This is a short list. There are many other items I'll be looking for, including a smartwatch, martingale collars, dog toys, and my favorite dog supplements.
