Meet the 22-Pound Giant Rabbit Who Has His Own Room and a Tiny Girlfriend Who Sleeps Under His Ear

Not all pets are created equal, and Junior is living proof of that. This massive Continental Giant rabbit tips the scales at around 22 pounds, which is roughly the same weight as three Chihuahuas stacked together. He lives in Winteringham, Lincolnshire, with his owner Lin Hobson, a 66-year-old cook who has a serious soft spot for animals. Junior has become something of an internet sensation, and once you learn his story, it is not hard to understand why.

What makes Junior’s life even more charming is his tiny companion, a Netherland Dwarf rabbit named Suzi. She weighs in at just about 1.5 pounds, making her so petite that she can comfortably curl up and nap directly under Junior’s enormous floppy ear. The size difference between these two is almost unbelievable, but the pair have been living together for three years now, ever since Lin took them in from a friend. They have become completely inseparable, spending most of their days side by side.

Lin makes no secret of the fact that these two are absolutely spoiled. They have their very own dedicated room inside her three-bedroom home, complete with a litter area and all the comforts a rabbit could want. Out in the yard, Lin has set up a sand pit with tunnels for them to explore and play in. She grows a variety of fresh vegetables for them right in the garden, including broccoli, parsnips, carrots, and lettuce, sometimes serving it dried as a treat. According to Lin, they never chew anything they should not because they are simply too content and well cared for to bother.

Maintaining Junior is no small task, and his grooming routine alone is a commitment. Every single week, Lin spends around 45 minutes brushing him out because he sheds enormous amounts of fur. This is actually pretty standard for the Continental Giant breed, which is known for being high-maintenance in the grooming department. Before Junior, Lin had another giant rabbit named Jester who weighed around 20 pounds and passed away in 2023. Her experience with large breeds means she knows exactly what she is getting into, and she would not have it any other way.

Despite the obvious size difference, do not let that fool you into thinking Junior is the one calling the shots at home. Lin says that Suzi is the clear boss of the household. If Suzi happens to be in Junior’s way, he gently nudges her aside with his nose. But if Junior is in Suzi’s path, she simply leaps right on top of him without a second thought. Junior, by all accounts, is an incredibly laid-back and gentle giant who just goes with the flow and lets the tiny rabbit run the show.

The duo also enjoy some downtime on the couch together watching football, and according to Lin, they are Liverpool supporters. They even have their own little couch, and Junior has a habit of draping his long ear over Suzi while they rest together. Beyond their cozy home life, Junior and Suzi also serve a greater purpose. Lin is an ambassador who participates in raising awareness about animal rights and shelter support. The pair actively help raise funds for sick rabbits through an organization called Rabbit Savior, turning their adorable bond into something that genuinely helps other animals in need.
