Boomer protected his pack including the Labrador and the young woman without chasing the coyote any farther than necessary.
Carle admitted he never expected such courage from his gentle giant. He described how Boomer handled the responsibility like a natural guardian stepping up exactly when it mattered most. The whole event served as a powerful reminder of how quickly things can change during what seems like a routine outing with pets.
