The other day I planned to come home, load up the dogs and take them for a long walk, but when I got home, I just wasn't feeling it.
Taking our dogs on a walk is fun, but it takes us forever to get out of the house. I have to harness 4 dogs, grab the leashes (I really need to put them back in the car) and drive 4 excited dogs to our favorite walking trail.
Then comes the ordeal of getting them all out of the car in an orderly fashion (I look like a maniac, I'm sure) and spend 2 miles untangling myself from leashes.
I wasn't feeling it.
Then I had an idea! I grabbed my iPod, took the dogs outside and I danced for 30 minutes. It was so much fun!
I have a playlist called “Bouncy” with more than 40 songs to dance to and the best part was the dogs were totally down. All of our dogs stayed focused on me the entire time, it was like my happy energy was a magnet. I danced around collecting all of the Puller rings and danced around more while I threw them.
I only danced the distance of 1 mile, but I got a lot of steps in (forgot to check how many) and the dogs were exhausted too.
No one came along the trail (unusual) that has a view of our property, the only neighbors who can see our property were away, and J was at the gym. So I was able to dance, do the booty shake, and shimmy all around the property while playing fetch with the dogs.
When I was finished, me and the dogs were happily exhausted.
